Not only did the makers create inventions, but they also provided more opportunities for people to use their imagination to produce inventions that can benefit the mankind. Therefore, from the partnership between Chevron Enjoy Science, the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTD), the Institute for the Promotion of Teaching Science and Technology (IPST) and a group of makers in Thailand, the Bangkok Mini Maker Faire was first held in 2016. The faire was able to gather makers across the country to share experience and showcase their innovation which is to inspire the youths and others. There are more than 100 makers nationwide display their work and over 4,000 participants in the Bangkok Mini Maker Faire 2017, whereby the youths and general interested people can get accustomed to makers better. The participants were able to learn more about the makers and their inventions which to inspire them for future innovation for economic and social development. The participants of all ages can benefit from the work displayed, the knowledge sharing and the maker culture.
Additionally, the Chevron Enjoy Science Project, together with the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), organized the Young Makers Contest in order to enable those young makers in formal and vocational education to exercise their knowledge and skills in the inventions that are beneficial to the society. The first contest was held in 2016 and the winner had the opportunity to attend the Maker Faire in other countries in order to gain experience from the international contest as well as prizes.
