Interactive Exhibitions to Inspire Thai Youth to Pursue STEM Careers

The development of a strong STEM workforce equipped with skills in critical thinking, analysis, problem solving, and creativity is vital to enhancing Thailand’s competitiveness and building an innovation-based economy. Because of this, Chevron, in collaboration with the National Science Museum (NSM) and Kenan, launched Enjoy Science Careers, an interactive exhibition to inspire Thai youth to pursue education and careers in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). The exhibition allows students to interact with real professionals through role-playing activities that promote ten high demand STEM careers. Over 1,000 youth participated in the exhibition during the three-day launch in Bangkok. Enjoy Science Careers has been lauded by key government officials, business leaders, and students.

Dr. Pichet Durongkaveroj, Minister of Science and Technology: “Enjoy Science Careers is making a significant contribution to the enhancement of Thai students’ skills related to technology and innovation. In order to increase Thailand’s competitiveness and become a developed nation, our economy must be driven by science and technology. I truly believe that Enjoy Science Careers will help Thailand meet its goal of cultivating a strong STEM workforce by inspiring youth to pursue a career in STEM. It is critical for children to have a strong STEM foundation to be successful in these careers in the future.”
